Trocadero Projects acknowledges the Boon Wurrung and Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we operate.
We offer our respects to Elders of these traditional lands both past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

soft orbit is a speculative extension of the internal body. Through painting and textiles, microscopic bodily forms are abstracted, constructing an imagined internal space. Weaving spatial tension, materiality, and fragmented form, the works reflect the body in flux.

Catherine Weng is a multidisciplinary artist based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her practice spans painting, textiles, and installation, engaging with the unstable boundaries of the human body and psyche. Drawing on ideas of interiority and materiality, her work explores bodily transformation through surreal forms. She is particularly interested in the tension between the grotesque and the beautiful, inviting viewers into uneasy yet intimate encounters.
