Wang Zi Yu 王紫裕 | Looks Like You’re A Dead Snake Now
13.11.2025—14.12.2025

Launch: Wednesday 12 November 6–8PM

Looks Like You’re A Dead Snake Now responds to the question: What does a freshly graduated artist have to offer the world? It begins with the understanding that every living creature possesses a beauty that is impossible to replicate.

The concept for this exhibition was birthed suddenly one night; its body growing slowly through collaborative sewing sessions and daily walks, and its life completed as the last viewer lies down on the mattress.

All are welcome – welcome inside, welcome to stay within her imagination.

Many hands make light work. As the artist was unable to create a pink cloud by herself, she presents Looks Like You’re A Dead Snake Now to you, in collaboration with her fellow artists Emily Marker, Kim Feng Cheong, and Maeve Hatton.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Wang Zi Yu 王紫裕 is an artist from Xi’an, China, and a 2024 graduate of the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) program in Painting at RMIT University. Her multidisciplinary practice spans drawing, painting, and textile installation. Deeply introspective, her work emerges from dreams, inner reflections, and the tension between fear and vulnerability when encountering the external world. Fascinated by the possibilities of diverse materials, Wang is driven by a desire to translate intangible emotions, internal conflicts, and dreams into material form. Her work embodies the delicate balance between courage and the impulse to escape.
