“I am not a lesbian one moment and a person of color the next and a feminist at another, I am all of these at every moment.”
— Sara Ahmed
I am a lesbian, a feminist, a woman of color is a photography exhibition exploring connections between women through bodies, emotions, and relationships. Drawing on Sara Ahmed’s understanding of identity as constant and interconnected, the exhibition presents large-scale photographic prints and Polaroids, moving between intimacy and collectivity, private moments and shared narratives. A community program, including an artist talk and performance, extends themes of queerness, feminism, race, intimacy, trust, and connection.
